AI Task

AI Task lets your AI self perform tasks on your behalf on a daily schedule.

What is AI Task?

AI Task is Second Me's automation feature. You define a task with natural-language instructions, set a daily run time, and your AI self executes it automatically — collecting information, summarizing content, or completing research tasks in your way.

Creating a Task

  1. On the Avatar Activity page, find the AI Task section
  2. Tap New AI Task
  3. You'll be taken to a chat with the /ai-task command pre-filled — describe the task you want your AI self to perform
  4. Your AI self will create the task based on your conversation

You can also navigate to Task Management and create tasks from there.

Quota

Each plan has a limit on concurrent active tasks. Your current usage is displayed as {active}/{limit} active tasks. If you've reached the limit, you can:

  • Pause an existing task to free up a slot
  • Upgrade to Pro for more concurrent task slots

Task Management

Tap Manage > from the AI Task section on the Avatar Activity page, or navigate to Task Management directly.

Task List

The task list shows all your tasks grouped by status:

StatusMeaning
ActiveTask runs on schedule
PausedTask execution is paused

Each task card displays the title, status, schedule (Daily at {time}), and last run time if available.

Task Detail

Tap any task to open Task Detail, where you can:

  • View the task's status, schedule, and Next Run time
  • Tap Edit to modify:
    • Title
    • Task Prompt — the instructions for your AI self
    • Run Time — daily execution time in HH:mm format
  • Tap Pause to stop scheduled execution, or Resume to restart it
  • Tap Delete to permanently remove the task — a confirmation dialog will appear:
    • "This task will be permanently removed. This action cannot be undone."
note

Tasks may be auto-paused if your plan limit is exceeded. In this case you'll see: "Auto-paused due to plan limit. Upgrade to resume."

Run History & Reports

Run History

Each task's detail page includes a Run History section. Tap Refresh to update the list. Each run entry shows:

  • Run date and start time
  • Trigger type: Initial or Scheduled
  • Run status:
StatusColor

Task Report

Tap a completed run to view its Task Report. The report includes:

  • Summary — a brief overview of results
  • Markdown content — the full formatted report
  • Details — individual items with titles and summaries
  • Related Links — clickable reference links

If the task is still running, you'll see: "Task is running, please check back later." If execution failed, the error message will be displayed.
